Meet WE’s Co-founders

Barbara Miller has a wide range of writing, editorial, and business experience. For over a decade, she worked as a managing and acquisitions editor in two New York City-based publishing companies. She went on to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where for many years she was a managing editor of its direct marketing catalogs. Her interest in environmental issues led her to found and build a recycling company, which she eventually sold when she became managing and senior editor for a top renewable-industry trade magazine. While there, she played a key role in developing marketing materials. In addition to co-founding WE Write and Edit, she is a published author and has taught college-level composition, literature, and creative writing courses.

Crystal Reiss comes to WE with an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia University where she focused on fiction. While writing for the advertising newsweekly Shoot, she interviewed, proofread, and fact-checked on deadline. She has taught writing at the college level and has written for a variety of small publications. She has also worked in an editorial and administrative capacity in a wide range of settings, including finance, real estate, advertising, healthcare, and academia. In addition to serving as co-founder of WE, she is currently working on her second novel.
